Aluu 4: Court finds three persons guilty of murder



A Federal High Court sitting in Rivers has found three persons guilty of the murder of four students of the University of Port Harcourt in Aluu community on October 5th 2012. The four male students namely Ugonna Obuzor, Toku Lloyd, Chiadika Biringa and Tekena Elkanah, were brutally murdered by members of Aluu community in the Obio-Apkor Local Government Area of Rivers, over allegations that they were thieves. They were stripped naked, severely beaten and then burnt to death. 12 persons were initially arrested but in January this year, 5 persons were discharged and acquitted. 
Delivering judgment in the case today, the presiding judge,  Justice Ledan Nyordee found three persons guilty in connection with the murder and then discharged and acquitted the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th defendants on grounds that the prosecution team failed to prove its case of murder against them
