– Neighbours gave shocking revelation of what transpired before her death

– Husband refuses to blame wife over unfortunate incident

Reactions have trailed the mysterious death of a woman in a hotel in Ikotun area of Lagos state as concerned neighbours have opened up on what led to her death.

According to them, the deceased identified as Iya Ginika, left her home on the evening of Tuesday, July 19 and had informed her husband that she wanted to visit one of her friends within the neighborhood.

The Punch reports that the woman was married with children and was a businesswoman, while her husband was a motorcyclist (Okada rider).

But instead of visiting the friend in the neighbourhood as she told her husband, the deceased was said to have gone to spend some time with her lover in a hotel, which was a few kilometres from her matrimonial home.

This made the news of her sudden death a great surprise to her hubby and children who were not expecting her where she was reported to have had her last breath.

A neighbour who pleaded anonymity, revealed that the deceased, who was in her early fifties, checked into the hotel with her lover a day before her demise.

Having paid for an hour, the staff of the hotel was anxious the following day on why the lovers had not checked out but to their surprise, the woman was found dead in the room while the lover had already fled.

The case was immediately reported at the Ikotun police division with security officials springing into action instantly.

Speaking on the woman’s strange death, her husband identified as Henry claimed his late wife suffered from high blood pressure before her death and that the family would not want to dwell on the incident in order to protect the family’s image. Henry also said his wife will be buried later in July.

The Lagos state police command confirmed the incident with the spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmus informing that investigation was ongoing to arrest the lover who is now at large.

Infidelity is one of the major issues leading to divorce among couples as recently, a pastor called for the dissolution of his 22-year-old marriage due to frequent  embarrassment from his aggrieved wife.
